Every reCIRCLE partner business is easily recognizable thanks to the door label. On our map on recircle.ch/where and in the reCIRCLE app, partner businesses are displayed. They are identified as reCIRCLE BOX partners, reCIRCLE ISY partners, reCIRCLE BOX PIZZA partners or a combination. On the map you can also see whether a partner supports the APP and which APP functions it offers.

• All reCIRCLE BOX partners will take back used reCIRCLE BOXes, exchange them and refund the amount paid of CHF 10.
• All reCIRCLE BOX PIZZA partners will take back used reCIRCLE BOX PIZZAs, exchange them and refund the amount paid of CHF 10.
• All reCIRCLE ISY partners will take back used reCIRCLE ISYs, exchange them and refund the amount of CHF 5 paid.
• With reCIRCLE app partners, you can borrow reCIRCLEs free of charge for seven days via the app.
• It is important that the reCIRCLE product is complete (lid and bowl/cup). If the reCIRCLE product is returned within 24 hours, it does not need to be rinsed out and is washed directly at the partner company.
• If the product is not returned on the same day, it must be washed by the customer before being returned.
• reCIRCLEs can also be washed at home or in the office and refilled in the restaurant.

Please never throw away defective reCIRCLEs! They can be handed in at the partner restaurants. reCIRCLE takes back the defective (complete) network products and takes care of recycling.

Glass-fiber-reinforced plastic is permissible in the area of food contact according to EU and CH legislation. The glass fiber components are firmly bonded into the plastic and strengthen the material. Individual glass fiber particles cannot leave this bond. There is therefore no risk of injury from the glass fibers.

No. Washing up and transport do consume energy, but much less than producing an item for single use. Our life cycle assessment has shown that the reCIRCLE BOX is already more environmentally friendly than disposable packaging after 7 – 15 times of use (depending on the comparative material), despite washing up. Thanks to frequent reuse, raw materials are saved. More about the life cycle assessment can be read at recircle.ch/en.

No. The products are purchased and can be used privately. They can also be exchanged for newer products at partner companies years later. Once purchased, you have hygienically safe reCIRCLEs for life.

The partner companies regularly sort out heavily discolored, scratched or cut reCIRCLEs. These are collected twice a year and replaced with usable ones. In this way, we guarantee that flawless products are always circulating in the network. The exchange usually takes place in spring and fall.

Each partner business has a sticker at the entrance showing whether it offers reCIRCLE BOX, reCIRCLE BOX PIZZA, reCIRCLE ISY or a combination. The map (on the app and website) also shows which partners offer which products and take them back accordingly. All reCIRCLE BOXes, whether one-piece, two-piece, flat or CUP, are always taken back by reCIRCLE BOX partners – the only exception is the BOX PIZZA. This will only be taken back by reCIRCLE BOX PIZZA partners. All three ISY sizes are taken back by reCIRCLE ISY partners.

All reCIRCLE BOXes can be purchased for CHF 10 and the reCIRCLE ISY for CHF 5. The cutlery in eggplant is available to customers free of charge with the BOX and ISY. This is the easiest way for everyone to use the reusable system.

Never mind. Just take a new product, return it later and get the deposit back or borrow it for free via the app.

• reCIRCLE BOXes and the reCIRCLE cutlery are made of PBT (polybutylene terephthalate) and glass fibers.
  The reCIRCLE BOX PIZZA is made of PBT and glass beads.
  The ISY is made of Tritan
  The lids of the BOX and the ISY are made of PP (polypropylene).The materials are approved and tested by SQTS to be free of harmful substances. The granules are preferably sourced in Europe. A declaration of conformity can be requested from reCIRCLE. All products are made from certified food-grade plastic. They are free from BPA (bisphenol A), vegan and therefore harmless to health. You can find more information about the material and why we chose plastic here.

The reCIRCLEs are eggplant. Because reCIRCLE is not just a product, but a movement, recognition is very important. Behavioral changes have to be visible. It had to be a completely unknown packaging color that stands out from the usual disposable tableware, is visible and yet does not drown out the colors of the food. In addition, the color must be gender-neutral. Eggplant is the color of the reusable movement!

The official products of the national reCIRCLE returnable system are aubergine-colored and labeled with the reCIRCLE logo. However, there are other-colored products that are used at the request of catering establishments/companies and are labeled with their logo. These circulate internally at these businesses and cannot be given to reCIRCLE partners and vice versa. However, other-colored products can be refilled by all partner businesses as long as they are clean.

The ISY is completely sealed and leak-proof. This is without the need for silicone rims or a thread, as otherwise the gastronomy hygiene standards would not be granted. With hot contents above 70 degrees, rising steam can create excess pressure in the cup, which is strong enough to cause the lid to pop off. For this reason, the drinking flap must always remain open when the contents are hot. It is important to us that the ISY, once the drink has been consumed, does not leak in the handbag or backpack, which is why we do not use an air hole in the lid.

The reCIRCLE app has three functions: Thanks to it, reCIRCLE products can be borrowed for free, Zero Waste orders can be placed and partner businesses can be found on the overview map. Not all partner businesses support the app. The map shows which partners offer which functions.

Registration for the reCIRCLE app is necessary, as the free loan of reCIRCLE products requires the deposit of a means of payment. In addition, by registering in the app, you accept our terms and conditions, which form the legal basis for the use of the functions in the app.

On the reCIRCLE map in the app and on our website you can see all reCIRCLE partners and by using the filter functions you can show those partners who offer the app.

The app can be downloaded from the Playstore or the App Store.

The app can only be downloaded if the phone has the NFC function. That means it must support NFC, otherwise the app will not be displayed in the store at all.

A mail address. Registering and logging in works by entering the email address. The customer receives a mail with a link which serves as login.

To log in, customers enter their e-mail address. The link sent by mail serves as a direct login to the app.

To borrow products deposit-free, a credit card must be deposited. We accept all major credit cards and Apple and Google Pay.

After downloading the app, the first name/last name and the mail address must be entered. The customer will receive an automatic mail with a link to access the account. The customer is then logged in. To use the deposit-free function, a valid credit card must be deposited.
